A sight in the Białystok region

Supraśl — monastery, Icon Museum and the Knyszyn Forest

Supraśl lies 15 km from Białystok amid the Knyszyn Forest. Its highlight is the Annunciation Monastery founded around 1500, home to the Icon Museum — one of the largest collections of its kind in Poland. The town is a spa with a river beach and cycle trails.

A day out

In the morning the Icon Museum (visits in groups at set times), then the monastery and lunch in town. In the afternoon, a kayak on the Supraśl river or a bike ride in the forest.

In summer the river beach is busy and Supraśl is a favourite weekend spot — arrive early on Saturdays.
