A sight in the Białystok region

Kościuszko Market Square in Białystok — town hall, Podlasie Museum and café gardens

Kościuszko Square has an unusual triangular shape laid out in the 18th century. In the middle stands the town hall, demolished during the war and rebuilt in the 1950s — today the Podlasie Museum with a gallery of Polish painting. Cafés and restaurants line the square.

What to see

The Podlasie Museum in the town hall shows Polish painting, including works by Jacek Malczewski and Józef Chełmoński. In the evening the square is beautifully lit; the cathedral, the palace and Lipowa Street are minutes away.
