Władysławowo is a lively seaside town at the very root of the Hel Peninsula, where the open sea meets the shelter of the bay. It is known for its large fishing port, the distinctive Fisherman's House with its Kashubian Terrace, and wide sandy beaches running on to Chłapowo, Jastrzębia Góra and Karwia. It also holds the northernmost stretch of the Polish coast — with the lighthouse at Rozewie and the cliffs of the Coastal Landscape Park. An ideal base for families, surfers and anyone who wants to combine the beach with an active holiday.
Władysławowo lies at the heart of the Polish Baltic coast, at the point where the narrow Hel Peninsula breaks away from the mainland. That gives the town two faces — wide, open beaches with waves on the northern side, and calmer water on the peninsula side, ideal for families and for watersports.
The emblem of the town is the Fisherman's House with its viewing tower, known as the Kashubian Terrace, which opens a panorama of the port, the sea and the whole area. Right beside it works the largest fishing port on the Polish coast, where cutters come in every day and the stalls sell freshly smoked fish.
The surroundings are rich in natural attractions — Cape Rozewie with the oldest working lighthouse on the Polish Baltic, the picturesque Lisi Jar ravine at Jastrzębia Góra, and the high cliffs of the Coastal Landscape Park running above Chłapowo. It is a paradise for walkers and photographers.
Władysławowo is also a capital of Polish sport, thanks to the Olympic Preparation Centre at Cetniewo, where generations of medallists have trained. In summer the town lives on festivals, concerts and beach events, and the excellent wind draws kitesurfers and windsurfers from all over Europe.
