The Avenue of Sports Stars in Władysławowo — a promenade of Polish champions

The Avenue of Sports Stars is a remarkable promenade in Władysławowo, a tribute to Poland's greatest sportspeople — the equivalent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but dedicated to Olympic and world champions. Plaques set into the surface, bearing names and handprints, commemorate the legends of Polish sport, from athletes to footballers and boxers. The avenue grew out of the town's sporting traditions and the closeness of the Olympic centre at Cetniewo. A walk along the stars is a pleasant way to combine seaside relaxation with a little of the history of Polish sport, and the place is at its liveliest in summer, when new stars are unveiled.
