The Jakuszyce Clearing — cross-country skiing and the Piast Race
The Jakuszyce Clearing, on the boundary of the Karkonosze and the Izera Mountains, is Poland's largest cross-country skiing centre. At about 880 m a.s.l. by the Czech border, it has an extensive network of trails totalling around 100 km and a biathlon range. Since 1976 it has hosted the Piast Race — the largest and oldest cross-country skiing event in the country. Thanks to the Lower Silesian Sports Centre the clearing has changing rooms, equipment rental and catering. In summer the trails are used by cyclists and runners.
