A sight in the Malbork region

The Nogat and the castle panorama in Malbork

The classic, postcard view of Malbork opens from the far bank of the Nogat — this is where the best-known photographs of the fortress are taken, and where the open-air historical spectacle is staged each summer.

The best view of the fortress

The full scale of the castle is best seen from the opposite bank of the Nogat, where the red walls and towers are reflected in the water. It is an essential stop for a walk and for photographs — at its most striking in the morning and at sunset.

The Siege of Malbork

In summer the meadows by the Nogat host „The Siege of Malbork” — one of the largest historical spectacles in Poland, with a reconstruction of the fighting, a knights' camp and a fair. The dates and the programme change every year — check before you travel.

Walking and boat trips

  • Bridges and embankments — a walk around the fortress along the Nogat
  • Boat trips — seasonal excursion boats on the Nogat
  • Viewpoints — several angles from different points along the river
