The market square and Old Town Hall in Darłowo

The market square in Darłowo is the heart of the historic old town, which keeps the medieval street plan from the founding of the town. The centrepiece of the square is the Old Town Hall — a Baroque building raised in the 18th century on the site of an earlier Gothic one. Around the square stand atmospheric townhouses with cafés and shops, and the whole makes a picturesque space for a stroll. The castle, St Mary's church and St Gertrude's Chapel are all close by, which makes the square the natural starting point for exploring Darłowo. It is where the historic character of the town is felt most strongly.
