St Mary's church in Darłowo

St Mary's church in Darłowo is a monumental Gothic church built of brick in the 14th century, one of the most precious religious monuments of the middle Pomeranian coast. Inside, valuable works of art survive together with the burial chapels of the dukes of Pomerania. The most famous burial is the stone sarcophagus of King Eric I of Pomerania, ruler of three Scandinavian kingdoms. The church's soaring tower is a distinctive element in the silhouette of Darłowo's old town. It remains an active parish church and an important stop on any tour of the town.
