A sight in the Wrocław region

Hydropolis — the centre of knowledge about water in Wrocław

A modern, interactive centre devoted to water in all its aspects, laid out inside a neo-Gothic underground clean-water reservoir from the end of the 19th century.

The place and the idea

Hydropolis occupies a historic underground clean-water reservoir from the end of the 19th century that was still part of the city's infrastructure. The remarkable neo-Gothic brick interior frames a modern exhibition about water — from the depths of the oceans through the human body to technology.

What is inside

  • Interactive zones — the deep sea, the water cycle, people and water
  • A bathyscaphe model — a 1:1 replica
  • Multimedia and models — a modern, vivid way of telling the story
  • For families — an attraction for children and adults alike

In practice

At weekends and in season online tickets with a timed entry are advisable. Hydropolis is on the edge of the old town near the Oder — the visit goes well with a walk along the embankments to the Market Square or to Ostrów Tumski.
