The Baroque hall
The Leopoldina Hall was created at the beginning of the 18th century as the ceremonial hall of the Jesuit academy founded by Emperor Leopold I. It is decorated with ceiling frescoes, gilded stuccowork, sculpture and galleries; it is reckoned one of the outstanding works of secular Baroque in this part of Europe.

In practice
The hall is also in use for university ceremonies — it is sometimes closed for events, so check the hours before your visit. The university building stands on the Oder, a few minutes' walk from the Market Square and opposite Ostrów Tumski.
