A sight in the Wisła region

Stożek Wielki — a summit, a mountain hut and a chairlift

Stożek Wielki (978 m a.s.l.) is a border summit of the Silesian Beskids with a PTTK mountain hut just below the top. A chairlift runs up from Wisła Czarne — an easy way into the mountains.

A summit on the border

Stożek Wielki stands 978 m a.s.l. on the Polish–Czech border. It is a wooded summit with clearings that open out the views, and at the same time a popular walking destination — easy to reach, even with children.

The hut and the chairlift

  • The PTTK mountain hut — one of the oldest in the Beskids, with hot meals and beds
  • The chairlift — from Wisła Czarne almost to the summit
  • Waymarked trails — links along the Beskid ridges
  • The borderland — trails continue into the Czech side

In practice

Stożek can be climbed on foot along waymarked trails or reached by chairlift — the last few hundred metres are then covered on foot. The lift shortens the trip considerably; its operating hours depend on the season and the weather.
