The yacht marina
Dziwnów Marina was built as part of the modernisation of the quay and is open all year. Its distinctive feature is the basin shaped like the letter "D" — a playful nod to the town's name, clearly visible in photographs from the air. It takes craft up to about 12 metres long, several dozen boats can moor here at a time (of the order of 60 berths), and the depth of the basin allows larger yachts to lie safely too.
The entrance to the marina is on the Dziwna side, before the bascule bridge, which lets sailors go out to sea freely without waiting for the span to be raised. Within the harbour there are pontoons with power and water, sanitary facilities and a slipway, and in season a harbour master is on duty. The fishing harbour
Right beside the marina is the fishing harbour — still a working one, with cutters and boats at their moorings. It is a good place to see a catch coming in, to buy fresh fish straight off the boat or from the stalls by the harbour, and then eat fried fish at one of the fry stalls along the quay. The scene of the harbour — masts, nets and gulls — is also the most photographed view of Dziwnów after the bascule bridge.
The quay between the marina and the fishing harbour has been laid out as a walkway: benches, lighting, food stalls and ice cream shops. In the evening it is one of the main meeting places in the town — particularly when the bridge is being raised and a procession of boats passes beneath the lifted span.
Boat trips from the quay

What is nearby
A good deal is gathered around the harbour for a single walk: the bascule bridge on one side, a park with a playground and an outdoor gym on the other, and a little further on the seaside promenade and the Avenue of Sporting Stars with its plaques to Polish Olympians. The beach is a few minutes away, through a gap in the dunes. That makes the harbour area a convenient base for anyone without a car — from a boat trip through a fish lunch to an evening on the promenade, everything is within walking distance.
If you come with children, it is worth putting on the list: a "pirate" boat trip, the playground by the park and watching the bridge go up. For sailors the marina is a natural stop on the coastal route and a gateway to sailing on the Kamień Lagoon towards Kamień Pomorski and the island of Wolin.

When to go
The marina is working, but the bustle is only starting; the first trips on the lagoon, cheaper and quieter. A good time to photograph an empty harbour.
In full swing: trips every few hours, queues at the fry stalls, evening crowds on the quay and the bridge raised on even hours.
September — trips still run at weekends, the fish is fresh and there are fewer people. In October the harbour falls quiet, but the raw Baltic has its own atmosphere.
The marina is open all year while the rest of the quay sleeps. Storms, gulls and empty pontoons — for lovers of the maritime off-season.
