Boat trips from Dziwnów
The simplest way to see Dziwnów from the water is a trip on an excursion boat casting off from the quay by the fishing harbour. What is usually offered are short runs out onto the Baltic (a few dozen minutes, "out of the harbour mouth and back") and longer trips on the Kamień Lagoon — calmer, good for families with smaller children, without the roll of the open sea. Some of the craft are dressed up as pirate ships, with the appropriate trappings — which works on children every time.
Some trips are timed to pass beneath the raised bascule bridge — so you watch the bridge going up from below. Tickets, times and routes depend on the operator and the weather, and are most often bought on the spot, at the quay; the season runs roughly from May to September, with the fullest programme in July and August. A separate category is angling trips — seasonal fishing runs with local skippers.
The Kamień Lagoon
The Kamień Lagoon is a shallow, brackish bay lying along the course of the Dziwna — between Dziwnów to the north and Kamień Pomorski to the east, with the island of Wolin on the western side. The water here is calmer and warms faster than the sea, the shores are grown over with reeds and surrounded by meadows — a paradise for birds: cormorants, herons, swans, ducks and many migrant species. For sailors the lagoon is a natural training water and a gateway to sailing further towards the Szczecin Lagoon.
From the Dziwnów side the lagoon can be seen from around the bascule bridge and the marina, and the most convenient way to explore it is from the deck of an excursion boat or a hired craft. The shores of the lagoon also make a good idea for a cycle ride away from the beach crowds — quieter, greener and with different views from those on the sea side.

How to fit it into a plan
The simplest scheme: one "water" day at Dziwnów (the harbour, a boat trip, the bascule bridge, the quay and the beach), and then half-day excursions into the country around — Kamień Pomorski for an organ concert and the old town, Woliński National Park for the cliffs and bison, Międzyzdroje for the pier. It is all within a short drive along the DW102 or reachable by bicycle, and the evenings are still best spent on the promenade watching the sun set over the Baltic.

When to go
The first trips on the lagoon, plenty of birds along the shores, cheaper and quieter. The sea is still cold, but walking and excursions are in full swing.

September — trips still run at weekends, and it is an ideal time for watching birds on the lagoon and exploring the area in peace.
