The settlement
The Centre of Slavs and Vikings on the island of Wolin is a reconstruction of an early medieval settlement in wood — cottages, workshops and a palisade — recalling Wolin's importance as a Baltic trading port in that age.
It is a living open-air museum with craft demonstrations and a family-friendly atmosphere.
The Festival of Slavs and Vikings
In August the Festival of Slavs and Vikings is held here — one of the best-known events of its kind in Poland, with staged battles, a historical market and craft work. At that time the region is full; it is worth booking accommodation well ahead.
