What a połonina is
Połonina Caryńska is a long, treeless mountain ridge — one of the połoniny characteristic of the Bieszczady (subalpine meadows above the treeline). From the top a wide panorama opens out: Połonina Wetlińska opposite and, beyond it, the Tarnica area, the highest part of the Polish Bieszczady.
It is an emblem of the Bieszczady and one of the best-known viewpoints in the region, lying within Bieszczady National Park.
