A sight in the Krynica-Zdrój region

Słotwiny Arena and the Treetop Walk

Słotwiny Arena is an all-year leisure centre in the hamlet of Słotwiny above Krynica-Zdrój, at the foot of the Jaworzyna Krynicka range. In winter it runs a ski slope with chairlifts, and in summer the main attraction is the Treetop Walk, ending in a tall wooden viewing tower with a wide panorama of the Sącz Beskids.

The Treetop Walk and the viewing tower

The Treetop Walk is a wooden structure about 1,030 metres long, climbing gently among the crowns of beech, fir and spruce. The walk runs at various heights, so the forest can be seen from a perspective usually out of reach on foot, and the walkways are friendly to families with children and pushchairs too.

The route ends at a distinctive wooden viewing tower about 49.5 metres high, reckoned one of the tallest of its kind in Poland. From the top a panorama opens out over Krynica-Zdrój, the valleys around and the ridges of the Sącz Beskids, and on clear days the views reach far into the mountains.

The ski slope and the summer season

In winter Słotwiny Arena is a ski centre with floodlit, snow-covered runs of varying difficulty and a modern chairlift. It draws beginners and more advanced skiers alike, and being close to Krynica makes it easy to combine skiing with a spa stay.

Outside the winter season the chairlift carries visitors up to the upper station and the tower, from where the treetop walk or the mountain trails begin. In summer the centre offers family and leisure attractions and makes a convenient starting point for the Jaworzyna Krynicka range.
