The Sensory Gardens (the Gardens of the Senses)
The Sensory Gardens at Muszyna are an extensive terraced garden laid out to stimulate visitors' senses in a considered way. They are divided into themed zones — of health, scent, sound, touch and taste among others — and the individual gardens are linked by paths, steps and viewpoints set on the hillside above the town.
Walking among fountains, planting and garden structures, you can rest and at the same time take in the panorama of the Poprad valley and the spa town. Admission is free, and thanks to their themed character the gardens are popular with families and spa visitors alike.
The castle, the market square and the mineral waters
Above Muszyna, on Baszta hill, stand the picturesque ruins of the old castle which as early as the 14th century guarded the southern border of the Kingdom of Poland. The stronghold was destroyed and rebuilt several times before finally falling into ruin; today there is a fine view from beside it over the layout of the town with its Baroque church and market square.
Muszyna and the whole Sącz Beskids region are famous for their wealth of mineral waters and clean air, which help to restore strength and improve health. Near the gardens and spa parks you can visit the pump rooms and springs, combining a walk with the town's spa traditions.
