The Bear Cave at Kletno

One of the loveliest and longest caves in Poland, in the Śnieżnik Massif near Kletno. It is famous for its exceptionally rich formations — stalactites, stalagmites and flowstone. It takes its name from the many remains of cave bears found inside.

A cave rich in formations

The Bear Cave formed in the marbles of the Śnieżnik Massif and is reckoned one of the loveliest caves open to visitors in Poland. Inside, the rich formations — stalactites, stalagmites, columns and flowstone — are remarkable, as are the palaeontological finds, including the bones of cave bears from which it takes its name.

In practice

The number of entries per day is limited to protect the cave — booking ahead is effectively essential, especially in season. It is cool and damp inside; take a jacket and secure footwear. The guided visit lasts about 45–60 minutes.
