The meaning of the place
The monument commemorates the symbolic wedding of Poland to the Baltic — the gesture with which, in March 1945 at Kołobrzeg, the return of the town and the coastal strip to Poland was sealed, echoing a similar act at Puck in 1920. The monumental memorial was raised later, near the beach and the harbour entrance.
