The port and the Fisherman's House
Jastarnia is one of the peninsula's traditional fishing ports, with a Kashubian atmosphere. Its landmark is the Fisherman's House — a building in the form typical of the region, tied to the history of local fishing.
Beaches on both sides
- The Baltic side — a wide sandy beach with stronger waves
- The bay side — calmer, shallower water, good for families
- The port and promenade — cutters, bars and the feel of the town
- A position in the middle of the peninsula — conveniently on the railway line
Practical notes
Jastarnia lies on the Gdynia–Hel railway line and on the road along the spit — in summer the train is the easiest way to arrive (the road jams). At the height of the season the beaches are full; out of season it is quiet and some places are closed.
