Liwia Łuża lake near Niechorze

Liwia Łuża is a shallow coastal lake right beside Niechorze, separated from the Baltic by a narrow band of dunes and spit. Because of the wealth of water and wading birds it has been made a nature reserve — an important breeding ground and a stop on migration routes. Its brackish water is home to rare species, and the shores are grown with reedbeds and meadows. Paths and observation points have been laid out around the lake for birdwatchers and visitors alike. It is a quiet alternative to the crowded beaches.
