What the trip is like
A single raft is built from 5 wooden boats lashed together into a platform for 8–12 passengers. Two raftsmen in highland dress steer it with long poles. The trip sets off from the Kąty landing at Sromowce Niżne, passes through seven distinctive bends of the Dunajec between the crags of the Three Crowns, Sokolica and the Seven Monks, and finishes at Szczawnica (the 18 km version, 2–2.5 hours) or Krościenko (the 23 km version, 3 hours).

Practical notes
The Kąty landing lies about 35 km from Krościenko and 110 km from Kraków. There is parking, a ticket office and places to eat on site. At the height of the season (July and August) it is worth arriving early in the morning or booking ahead — the wait can exceed two hours. Trips run in all weather except thunderstorms and very high water.
