The narrow-gauge railway
The Hajnówka narrow-gauge railway was originally built to haul timber out of the Białowieża Forest. Today it serves visitors — the historic carriages run deep into the forest, far from the roads, which makes for a remarkable and atmospheric experience.
The final stop is usually a woodland clearing with a place to rest (a fire pit and a picnic area). It is a family-friendly attraction and a good complement to exploring the forest.
